We have a vacancy for a charity shop manager in Eye

A great opportunity to lead a well-established charity shop at the heart of a Suffolk market town.

Families Together Suffolk is looking for an enthusiastic, community-minded Shop Manager to lead our busy and successful charity shop in Eye.

Our Eye shop has been part of the town for nearly 10 years and has a loyal following of customers, donors and volunteers. We are looking for someone with the skills and experience to build on that success while helping the shop continue to develop and adapt for the future.

Location: Eye, Suffolk
Hours: Part-time, 32 hours per week over 4 days
Salary: £26,835 pro rata

About the role

This is a hands-on management role combining charity retail, people leadership and community engagement.

You will lead the day-to-day running of the shop, working closely with our staff and valued volunteer team to create a welcoming, well-organised and successful charity shop.

You will be responsible for:

• leading, supporting and developing staff and volunteers;
• creating a positive and inclusive environment where volunteers feel valued and involved;
• generating and managing donated stock, merchandising and maintaining high shop standards;
• building strong relationships with customers, donors and the local community;
• achieving income targets and maintaining appropriate financial and Gift Aid controls;
• confidently using retail, Gift Aid and other IT systems;
• introducing new ways of working and helping staff and volunteers adapt positively to change;
• delivering excellent customer service; and
• contributing ideas to the continued development of Families Together Suffolk's growing retail operation.

Who we're looking for

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with charity retail experience, ideally including responsibility for managing a shop, staff or volunteers.
You will be:

• a warm, approachable and confident people manager;
• experienced in working with, supporting and motivating volunteers;
• commercially aware, with a good understanding of successful charity retail;
• comfortable working in a close-knit local community and building positive relationships;
• organised, practical and willing to get stuck into the everyday running of the shop;
• confident using IT and able to learn and make effective use of new systems;
• positive about change and able to bring other people with you;
• creative about retail, stock, displays and opportunities to increase income; and
• committed to the work of Families Together Suffolk and the families we support.
